William  joined us in 2010 having  graduated top in his class from Napier University with a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance.    He completed his  CA training with us qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2015 and passed  the Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency (CPI) with merit  in 2018.

William is responsible for overseeing our portfolio of corporate cases and supports the team in decision-making in complex case administration and asset realisations for  business and  personal insolvency.

As a qualified CA William has dealt with a wide spectrum of businesses and  his expertise  is  invaluable when providing pre-appointment advice on debt solutions for both  business and  personal insolvency, ensuring the appropriate  consideration and  advice is provided to our clients.    He is particularly adept at financial analysis with an aptitude for ensuring a solution driven approach to a financial problem.

William supports our Licensed Insolvency Practitioners (IPs), heading up the team that  attends  trading  premises  in creditor driven cases  to assess the trade  –  in both corporate and personal insolvency cases.  He works closely with our IPs in reviewing the circumstances  to ensure the appropriate course of action is taken. In personal insolvency cases, where debts can be paid in full, he is involved in the supervision of the trade to allow a debtor to retain their business without a detrimental closure until the outcome of their application for Recall is known.

He is also  actively involved in providing training for staff and external stakeholders as part of our in-house training programme  – Dunedin Academy.
